Kyrie Eleison is a Series of Historical novels by Vladimir Streltsov.

ABSTRACT: “Kiriye Eleison” explores the events that took place on the territory of the contemporary Italy, from the end of the 9th century till the beginning of the 10th century and set a precedent to the formation of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation. These years hold a special significance as they became a turning point in the history of the Medieval Western Europe ; they became a time that the Christian church would rather forget. The final collapse of the Charlemagne Empire and deep moral crisis of the Roman Church found their culmination in a trial hosted over a corpse. This event had led to the emergence of certain characters on the Holy See, whose actions and lifestyles were far from the Christian ideals and were mostly dictated by the wishes of two women: the wife of the senator Theophylacti and their daughter, both of whom were infamous for their beauty and depravity. In the history of the Roman Catholic church, this period of time is now bearing a name “Pornocracy” or  “Rule of the Harlots”.

The Design of these book covers is Highly influenced by the works of the famous Belgian Artist, Félicien Rops. Filled with symbolism, his paintings were addressing the same issues as the these contemporary novels. For this reason, I was asked to use them as base. As part of my job, I have produced said illustrations and currently I am working on translating the first book Russian to English.
